Snoot
I was messing around with my camera today. Decided to make a little snoot thing for my SB-800.
The Gear:
Nikon D80
Nikkor 50mm f/1.8
Nikon SB-800 on manual 1/128
Nikon MC-DC1 wired remote
wireless Cactus Triggers
black poster board and electrical tape for the snoot.
Aperture 1.8
Shutter speed 1/200
ISO 100
Without the Snoot.
With the Snoot.
That all for now.

Week: 10: Night Owl Shoot
Shot with Dee in the early morning hours of the Las Vegas on the Strip.
So Mike of Polarpics, Mario of 702photos, Dirt Riggs and myself were up on the strip in the wee early morning hours trying to strip some long exposure stuff with DeeBaby. We started at Caesar's and walking around shooting. Went from new spot to new spot. Then we stumble on the making of a Music Video. Katie Perry's music video to be exact. Our model, Dee, Look like Katie Perry so guess what we decide to do. Yup, we told everyone that she was Katie Perry and a few people bought it. Got a couple of great pictures and meet some really nice people. Ended the night with steak and eggs and some beer.

Week 9
I had 3 photoshoot this week.
I had one on sunday with Chasa in an undisclosed area which I added on the post before this. One with Angelique (photo above) on Wednesday at Town Square Las Vegas. Both shoots were shot with only ambient (available) light. I didn't want to carry around a light stand and umbrella in Town Square.
Then I shot on Thursday with Chasa because she wanted to be a Vampire. It all spawned because of Twilight and her being a fan of Team Edward. Whatever, I'm not a fan of Twilight, even though I read all the books, but I like the shot anyway.
She looks mean here.

Second try with Natural Light. 3 version of the same photo.
I want to test my new Lens. A Sigma 28-70 f/2.8. for the most part I wanted to do everything with natural light. Inspired by Mario of 702photo
This is the finished photo which the model love.
When I started I had a reflector and that wasn't working out the way I wanted it too. So I was like "fuck it" and broke out the strobe. Then after a outfit change, I was going to use my new Manfrotto flash bracket (still wanted to try every new item I have). With the flash bracket on I was about to set up with a light then decide to shoot a few more using Natural light. I'm glad I decide to, It was fun and a learning experience. I'll going to do more natural light photos in the future.
I'm going to show the RAW image but this is how it started. This would be my favorite version.
I scooped out this location and shot here before. I saw the glass and thought it would be cool to do some "behind the glass" shots. After reviewing the images we thought images looked scary. So Chasa had this idea to do it ever more dramatic with the hair covering her eyes. And I like it.
When I was shooting this particular series of images I thought it would look cool in black and white. I actually choose a different image at first to start with but decide to use this image instead.
So after looking at the images, I decide to get more in-depth with the CS3 (So I do forget how to use this program) and add just a bit of color.
I was if-fy about it. I liked it but I was diggin' the Color Version way better. I show Chasa she like the one with just a bit of color. I went with the model decision.
That's all for now. This is NOT apart of the "52 week" project.

Week 7
This was a spur of the moment shoot. I had a model cancel on me the day before and was trying to fill a spot for a Hotel shoot I was doing with other photographers. I didn't get anyone so I decide to go to the hotel anyway. While the other photographer was working I just sat in the corner playing around on my laptop.
Well the other photographer hired a MUA for her next model. The MUA showed up, It was Alyx, I worked with her before. She brought along her friend as a driver because her car broke down the night before. Her friend, who's also a model, was schedule for a shoot that morning that didn't happen. We got to talking and she realized that we talk before on the internet. So I said "Why don't we shoot now?!" And so we did. Sarah was hella cool and Alyx was awesome as always.
I had one busy day of shooting at the Hotel. And I thought I wasn't going to do anything.
Yeah, I know. Long boring story, but you still read it. SUCKA
Til next week. I'm out!!

Oh yeah, I'll be 27 years old by this time next week. I'm not really down with the odd years but I'll manage. Full post here.

Week 1: And so it begins
That's just a bunch of fireworks. Camera was hand held (I forgot the tripod.) I could have gotten a better view but it was a last minute decision to take these.
I got to picture up because I thought this one was interesting. Cars leaving right after the fireworks. More traffic than rush hours.
Note: These are the first pictures I did on a iMac with Aperture 2. I'm still trying to figure things out. Full post here.

Dry Lake Bed
The things you can do with a point and shoot and some post editing. That's right. I took this with my party cam (the kodak V550) that I bought about 3-4 years ago. I edited with adobe lightroom. It took me all of two minutes. I wish I had a model to shoot though. Full post here.

I've been busy
The last few days I've shot with 3 different models.
This list is from most recent.
This would be Angelica. July 9
She's know how to work it.
Zea, who is always awesome. July 7
My favorite shoot of the week. Very professional.
Ashley, Who is super cool. July 6
I had a great time with her.
If the schedule I set for myself keeps up, I'll be busy all of July. I really do enjoy breaking out the camera, setting up sets and taking pictures.
Now I'm knee deep in editing. I should get back to it. I need two things 1) a better editing program and 2) a faster computer.
And as always. More on the Flickr

Stood up
A model flaked on me today. This would be the second time this has happen.
I took these while I was waiting.
Green Valley is really green for being in the desert. Beautiful place.
I decide if she didn't show up, this would be my last shot of the day before I left. I wanted to use a strobe since I brought it with me.
I realize that models only want to work experienced and established photographers. Most new photographers can't get work with models unless they have worked with models before. It's a catch 22. There's a select few that will give a newbie a chance and I thank them for that.
It's only going to make me work harder. For some strange reason I really want to do this photography thing.
I took a job offer for my company's new magazine as a event photographer. It's a start.

More Adventures. Now with extra Photoshop.
I recently got a free trail version of Photoshop elements 6. So I decide to try it out.
The above image would be the OG (that's original if you didn't know.)
And this would be the edited version.
Not to bad, huh?
Both shot were taken by Kimz at Paseo Verde Park in Green Valley. Just before the Big Game. Which I'm still deciding if I should put pictures up from it. You'll know on the next post.
P.S.
If you guys are wondering, that's my "Say Cheese and Smile" face. When you point a camera in my direction most likely you will get a chinky looking MoFo and a grin that will scare small children away. I know, I rock.

Another Photo Trip
Photo trip again. I went Town Square today (I was actually there yesterday too. I watch Doomsday. It was Okay.)I went around 5:00ish and It was still really bright outside. I was going to wait it out for better light but I got impatient and left. I really didn't take that many photos, so I didn't have much that many to choose from.
The shot above is the best (I think) that I shot today. (Of course I added the sepia effect in post.) this was shot at the back of Town Square and I really think I wasn't suppose to be here.
When I was ready to go home I peeped at the moon and decide to take more picture of it. I edited with Nikon Picture Project. I really want Photoshop elements so I can do some cool stuff. Oh well, got to work with what you got, right?
